Types of Fender Damage We Repair
The fender is the panel above each wheel, and because of where it sits, it takes damage from almost everything: side-swipes, parking-lot strikes, road debris, rust from desert sun and seasonal rain. The good news: a fender almost never needs to be replaced if the damage is caught early.
Common fender damage we handle every week:
- Door-ding and shopping-cart dents, paintless dent repair (PDR) when the paint is intact
- Creases from side-swipes, bodywork, filler, and a blended paint refinish
- Cracked plastic flares on trucks and SUVs
- Surface rust and bubbled paint from desert UV exposure and chipped clear coat
- Full replacement when the fender is torn or its inner reinforcement is bent
Why Catch Fender Damage Early
A small dent or chip might seem cosmetic, until you realize what it does to the metal underneath. Once the paint is broken, moisture gets to the bare steel, which oxidizes (rusts) and bubbles the paint outward. Antelope Valley winters bring just enough rain and humidity swings to accelerate this. Six months of ignoring a chip can turn a $200 touch-up into a $1,400 panel replacement.
Our Fender Repair Process
The right repair depends on the damage:
- Assessment. We inspect for hidden damage to the inner fender, wheel well liner, and headlight or fog light mounting brackets.
- Repair vs. replace decision. We tell you the honest cost and outcome of each path.
- Repair work. Dent removal, body filler where needed, rust treatment, primer.
- Computer-matched paint refinish in our on-site booth, blended into adjacent panels for an invisible repair.
- Final QC and detail.
