How Insurance Claims Work at Executive Auto Body

  1. File your claim with your insurer (online, app, or phone). Get your claim number.
  2. Bring it to us, virtual estimate via photos, or in person. We'll review the damage with your carrier.
  3. We coordinate adjuster review on-site so you don't have to schedule multiple appointments.
  4. Repair begins. If we find additional damage after teardown, we document and submit a supplement to your insurer.
  5. Rental car on-site if your policy includes rental coverage.
  6. Pick up your vehicle when repair is complete. We bill the carrier directly. You pay only your deductible.

What If Your Insurance Estimate Is Lower Than Ours?

This is one of the most common moments in the claim process, and one of the most misunderstood. Insurance adjusters typically write desk estimates from photos, while body shop estimates come from physical inspection and teardown. The gap usually closes through supplements once we document the additional damage, and you almost never pay the difference out of pocket. Insurance Claim FAQs

Do I have to use the body shop my insurance recommends?
No. California Insurance Code §758.5 makes it illegal for an insurance company to require you to use a specific shop. You have the right to choose any licensed body shop in California, including Executive Auto Body & Paint.
Will using your shop affect my insurance rates?
No. Using a non-DRP (direct repair program) shop does not affect your premiums. Your rates are determined by your driving history and claim history, not by which shop fixes your car.
How long does the insurance claim process take?
From file to first repair day, usually 2–5 business days. Most of that time is the carrier's initial inspection and authorization. We can often start teardown the same day a claim is opened to keep things moving.
What if my insurance estimate is lower than your estimate?
That's normal. Initial estimates are written from a quick photo review and rarely capture hidden damage. After teardown, we submit a supplement to the carrier with photos and documentation. The carrier reviews and authorizes the additional repair, you do not pay more out of pocket as long as the damage is covered by your policy. What if I have a non-standard insurance policy (Fred Loya, Anchor General, Bristol West, etc.)?
We take them all. Many chain shops won't process non-standard claims because the carriers write tight estimates. We have working relationships with every non-standard carrier in California and process their claims daily.
